AGs to Convene for Winter Meeting

February 24, 2014

WHO: The National Association of Attorneys General (NAAG) will host its annual Winter Meeting in Washington, D.C.

WHAT: Forty-four state and territorial attorneys general, their staff, federal officials, and corporate and association representatives will convene to discuss pressing legal issues including multistate investigations, cyber privacy, online gambling, consumer financial protection, intellectual property, substance abuse and mental health treatment among state prisoners. There will also be an overview of this termís U.S. Supreme Court cases with Theodore Olson and Lisa Blatt during the Supreme Court Perspectives Luncheon.

Special guest speakers include U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder; Associate Attorney General Tony West; Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Director B. Todd Jones; and Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Director Richard Cordray. Ambassador William Brownfield with the U.S. State Department will discuss a new international prosecutors training agreement with NAAG.

WHEN: Monday, Feb. 24 through Wednesday, Feb. 26 until noon.

First session begins at 11:30 a.m. on Monday.
