Marland Holloway, Specialized Units & Public Protection Division Paralegal

Marland Holloway’s passion for politics led him to Washington, D.C., and eventually to NAAG in 2006. He divides his time as a paralegal between three areas of law within NAAG’s Specialized Units & Public Protection Division: cyberspace law, bankruptcy, and energy and environment.

In this role, he coordinates meetings, provides logistics for National Attorneys General Training and Research Institute trainings, formats and edits publications such as the Cybercrime e-newsletter and E-Discovery Bulletin, attends Capitol Hill hearings, and performs other administrative duties.

Marland hopes to further engage cyberspace law and energy and environmental issues in the future. During his time here, he wants to learn more about the legislative process. “I want to continue to gain a greater understanding of the legislative process, especially at the federal level.” Prior to joining NAAG, he did clerical work at the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Marland holds a bachelor of arts in political science from North Carolina Central University in Durham, N.C. He is an avid sports fan and enjoys cheering on his favorite sports teams: the University of North Carolina’s Tar Heels basketball team and the Atlanta Braves. In addition, he also enjoys representing his alma mater at college fairs, volunteering, watching plays, and listening to political commentary during his spare time. In the future, Marland plans to devote more time promoting math and science to low-income communities.
