America's Youth: AGs Looking Out for the Next Generation

The 2024 Presidential Initiative, "America’s Youth: AGs Looking Out for the Next Generation," has made great progress in tackling young people's challenges in the digital age. With the influence of digital technology and social media on youth, the initiative has been all about strengthening protections and advocating for their well-being. Since last year’s Capital Forum, numerous national speakers and panels have discussed tech safety, healthy bodies and minds, and financial literacy and wellness.

In September, NAAG President and Oregon AG Ellen Rosenblum brought together attorney generals, national policy leaders, teachers, youth health practitioners, representatives of youth organizations, and members of the legal and business communities for the Summit. The event featured Oregon's 6th grader Kid Governor Zoya Shah, who focuses on mental health awareness for kids. The summit aimed to foster meaningful dialogue and develop actionable policy recommendations to support young people's well-being.

This year’s event covered timely topics impacting the health and wellness of America’s youth, including tech safety, social media, substance use, financial literacy, AI, gaming, and child exploitation. This three-day event advanced important national conversations, policy recommendations, and information sharing on critical topics impacting America’s youth. The work of the initiative will wrap up in December at the Capital Forum, where the conclusions and recommendations will be presented.
