>> ATTORNEYS GENERAL NEGOTIATE FACEBOOK AGREEMENT FOR STATE GOVERNMENT USE The National Association of Attorneys General (NAAG) is announcing that a working group comprised of 15 state Attorneys General and representatives of the National Association of State Chief Information Officers (NASCIO) reached an agreement with Facebook to modify its terms and conditions for state and local government agency use. >> THE NATIONAL WHITE COLLAR CRIME SYSTEM AND THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF ATTORNEYS GENERAL PARTNER TO EDUCATE LAW ENFORCEMENT ON INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY CRIMES As a response to the serious threat of Intellectual Property (IP) crimes, the Bureau of Justice Assistance has partnered with the National White Collar Crime Center (NW3C) and the National Association of Attorneys General (NAAG) to develop and provide training to state and local law enforcement to help fight IP crime. >> NAAG RESPONDS TO OCC PROPOSED FINANCIAL REFORM REGULATIONS The National Association of Attorneys General (NAAG) sent comments yesterday signed by 48 state and territorial Attorneys General to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) over proposed regulations implementing the provisions of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act. >> AGS GIVE BACKPAGE.COM DEADLINE TO SUBSTANTIATE CLAIMS IT LIMITS PROSTITUTION ADS The National Association of Attorneys General (NAAG) sent a letter today signed by 46 Attorneys General to Backpage.com with a Sept. 14 deadline to substantiate company claims it can effectively limit prostitution and sexual trafficking activity on its website, especially ads that could involve minors. August 31, 2011

>> AGS SUPPORT CORDRAY NOMINATION FOR CFPB DIRECTOR NAAG sent a letter today signed by 37 state and territorial Attorneys General to the U.S. Senate urging confirmation of Richard Cordray as director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). October 18, 2011

>> U.S. AMBASSADOR LUIS CDEBACA TO ADDRESS NAAG EASTERN REGION MEETING AT COLUMBIA LAW SCHOOL ON THE SUBJECT OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING The Eastern Region of the National Association of Attorneys General (NAAG) will host an Oct. 20-21 forum on human trafficking at the Columbia Law School in New York City featuring Ambassador Luis CdeBaca, director of the U.S. State Department�s Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons. >> ATTORNEYS GENERAL REQUEST FEDERAL FUNDING FOR HUMAN TRAFFICKING PROGRAMS The National Association of Attorneys General (NAAG) sent a letter late Friday signed by 44 state and territorial Attorneys General to U.S. House and Senate Appropriations leadership urging them to fund a series of authorized programs to fight the growing problem of human trafficking and slavery. >> ATTORNEYS GENERAL ADVOCATE FOR STRONGER ENFORCEMENT OF THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION ACT The National Association of Attorneys General (NAAG) sent a letter today signed by 39 state and territorial Attorneys General to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and its Bureau of Competition requesting greater enforcement of the Federal Trade Commission Act (FTCA) to deter foreign manufacturers from using stolen information technology and combat unfair competitive practices.
