ANTITRUST
Emily Myers, Project Counsel
NAAG’s Antitrust Project works to facilitate communication among the Offices of Attorneys General and their staffs, and monitors legislative and regulatory developments in antitrust. The Project hosts an annual Seminar for Attorneys General and their staff and a portion of this Seminar is open to the public.
BANKRUPTCY
Karen Cordry, Project Counsel
NAAG’s Bankruptcy Project, headed by Bankruptcy Counsel Karen Cordry, works with Offices of Attorneys General on a daily basis to provide assistance and counseling on issues that arise in specific cases. In addition to this one-on-one assistance, NAAG’s Bankruptcy Counsel participates in numerous training sessions for state counsel.
CIVIL RIGHTS
Andrea Hampton, Project Manager
The Civil Rights Project focus provides information and support to the states on affirmative civil rights issues developed and implemented largely through the efforts of five Task Forces and their related subcommittees.
CONSUMER PROTECTION
Dennis Cuevas, Project Counsel
The NAAG Consumer Protection Project works to improve the enforcement of state and federal consumer protection laws by State Attorneys General, as well as supports multistate consumer protection enforcement efforts.
CRIMINAL LAW
Nicholas Alexander, Project Counsel
The NAAG Criminal Law Project provides a structure for exchanging information among the Attorneys General, allowing them to draw upon their collective expertise and experiences. The Project ensures that Attorneys General are kept informed in a timely and useful manner of all important criminal justice issues that affect the powers and duties of Attorneys General in this subject area, as well as examines emerging trends which may impact criminal policy matters on both the state and national levels.
CYBERCRIME
Hedda Litwin, Project Counsel
The Cyber Crime Project works to provide the necessary training and technical assistance to prosecutors in Attorney General Offices to enable them to successfully investigate and prosecute computer-based crimes.
END-OF-LIFE HEALTHCARE
A clearinghouse for the states Attorneys General offices.
ENVIRONMENT
Paula Cotter, Project Counsel
The Environment Project supports the activities of the NAAG Environment Committee. The Project focuses on three main areas: training/conferences, communications, and state/federal liaison activities.
MEDICAID FRAUD
Barbara L. Zelner, Counsel, National Association of Medicaid Fraud Control Units (NAMFCU)
The National Association of Medicaid Fraud Control Units (NAMFCU) serves as a forum for the nationwide sharing of information concerning the problems of Medicaid fraud control.
SUPREME COURT
Dan Schweitzer, Project Counsel
The Supreme Court Project conducts moot courts during Supreme Court terms and edits brief that are subsequently filed in the Court. These include cert petitions, briefs in opposition merits briefs and amicus briefs. The project also sponsors an advocacy seminar and an annual State Solicitors and Appellate Chiefs conference. A bi-weekly report informs states of opinions issued, cases granted review and other items of interest.
TOBACCO
Peter Levin, Tobacco Project Director and Chief Counsel
The Tobacco Project serves as the liaison to the NAAG Tobacco Committee and Settling States for the implementation and enforcement of the Tobacco Master Settlement Agreement (MSA).
