Attorneys General Offer Comments on Federal Tobacco Law

Attorneys General Jon Bruning of Nebraska and Martha Coakley of Massachusetts, co-chairs of the NAAG Tobacco Committee, sent a Dec. 9 letter to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in response to the FDA’s request for “comments that will inform strategies to protect the public health.”

U.S. House Passes Financial Reform Legislation

By a vote of 223 to 202, the House of Representatives passed "The Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act" (H.R. 4173) on Dec. 11, a bill that provides for some of the most sweeping financial reforms since the 1930s.
