Human trafficking is a transnational crime with impacts across the globe. NAAG is committed to serving the U.S. attorney general community and prosecutors throughout the world in their work combatting this scourge and protecting and restoring victims. NAAG’s human trafficking work includes the related crimes of domestic and gender-based violence, and focuses on collaborating with stakeholders to strengthen law enforcement and prosecution practices with a victim centered approach that holds offenders accountable.
NAAG's human trafficking work includes:
- Coordinating the NAAG Human Trafficking Committee to meet the needs of attorneys general and partners through training and information sharing.
- Co-hosting the Global Conference on Human Trafficking in Puerto Rico in partnership with the International Association of Prosecutors.
- Providing training to the attorney general community on best practices for interviewing victims of human trafficking, sexual exploitation of children, online stalking and harassment, disrupting illicit massage businesses, and gender-based violence.
- Educating law enforcement and prosecutors on domestic violence issues, including victim identification, technical abuse, and digital evidence.
