About Guam
Guam is literally where America’s Day Begins, being near the International Dateline. A tropical paradise in the Western Pacific Ocean with year-round tropical temperatures and warm ocean waters. Our People are a melting pot of all cultures, with the Island hospitality of the Chamorro people. The Spanish colonized Guam for about 5 centuries, and Guam became part of the USA in 1898. A rich history that played an integral part in the USA’s successful War in the Pacific during WWII. A number of international destinations are just 3 about hours away, including Japan, the Philippines, S. Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, Hong Kong, China and Singapore to name a few. Despite our 212 square mile size (30 miles long), Guam offers the convenience and luxuries of city living without its stressors. We have world-class diving, snorkeling and other water activities, as well as caves, waterfalls and hiking trails for all ability levels to explore. We are home to international athletic events. It’s no wonder Guam has become a modern-day melting pot of about 125,000 residents with an additional about 25,000 military personnel and their families.
