State of Texas and Department of Justice reviewed proposed acquisition by Union Pacific Corp. of the Southern Pacific 7 related railroad companies. Texas appeared and filed comments with the Surface Transportation Board in opposition to the transaction asserting that the proposed acquisition would substantially lessen competition in railroad transportation services.
