WHO: The National Association of Attorneys General (NAAG) Eastern Region is holding a one-and-a-half-day meeting in Washington, D.C. It will focus on “Reducing Violence: Innovations that Work” and District of Columbia Attorney General Karl A. Racine will host. He serves as chair of the NAAG Eastern Region.* The DMV attorneys general – D.C., Maryland and Virginia – will attend along with NAAG President and Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt and attorneys general from Del., Pa., R.I. and Vt.
WHAT: Keynote speakers are Anne Tremblay, director of the Los Angeles Mayor’s Office of Gang Reduction and Youth Development with Q and A moderated by AG Racine, and Alphonso David, counsel to the New York governor.
Topics to be addressed include public health approaches to reducing violence, restorative justice, innovations in specialty courts and bail reform.

First session starts Thursday at 9 a.m. Meeting concludes Friday at 12:30 p.m.
